One of the top diagnosticians at Woman to Woman OB/Gynecare, Certified Physician’s Assistant Jolana Woodruff has served many important roles in our organization and boasts over ten years of medical experience covering a diverse spectrum of specialties.
She is best known for her relatability, her down to earth nature, and her tremendous ability to listen. New patients often comment that she is a refreshing change from prior experiences at offices where they were left feeling unimportant, or even worse, unheard.
A mother of three biological children plus a host of neighborhood children who call her “mom,” Jolana is committed to educating others on the benefits of a healthy lifestyle and wisdom of preventative care.
Jolana Woodruff graduated at the top of her class and draws from a wealth of knowledge in traditional medicine and homeopathic cures. She is able to care for the total person: body, mind, and spirit.
Although her experience (emergency medicine, family practice, and obstetrics-gynecology) grants her the ability to see patients both in the exam room and the operating room, it is her pro-bono work in the field which truly demonstrates her passion for the poor, underresourced, and underserved.
Her future aspirations are to serve in Africa as a medical missionary, but until then, we at Woman to Woman Ob/Gynecare are pleased to count Jolana Woodruff, PA-C, as an important and valued member of our professional care team.

Melissa Santilla, MS, CNM, NP
Melissa grew up in Illinois. She was a medic in the Army Reserves for 8 years. She received her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in nursing from Lakeview College of Nursing in 1994. She worked as a labor and delivery nurse for 8 years before attending graduate school. She received her Master’s of Science Degree with a specialty in Nurse-Midwifery from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2002. She moved to California in 2002 with her husband and son. She enjoys reading, going to the movies, and watching her son compete in competitive swimming.
Ever since she can remember Ellen loved to care for people and wanted to make a positive difference in the world. Born and raised in the Midwest, she was not your typical child. When other little girls were dreaming of becoming princesses, young Ellen was dreaming of becoming a nurse.
Ellen fondly recalls a memory from a first grade school assignment where she wrote to St. John’s School of Nursing requesting information about their program. Not only did they respond to her letter, but Ellen would fulfill her childhood dream by growing up to attend and complete her training at St.
John’s School of Nursing/SMSU in Springfield, Missouri.
Ellen was not satisfied with one specialty and continued on to complete the requirements to become a Nurse Practitioner in both Family Practice and Obstetrics and Gynecology. She naturally gravitated toward a career caring for women and found women’s health care a perfect fit for her passions.
Her caring nature has been a balm to hundreds of patients throughout the years, and this mother of five has instilled in her family a legacy of caring and service. All four of her daughters have chosen careers in nursing, and her son serves in the Air Force.
Ellen is a gentle spirit and a calming presence to our patients at Woman to Woman Ob/Gynecare. She is board certified by NCC as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, and looks forward to serving you as a member of your care team.
