Annual Exam

Annual well-woman exams are offered by your Fresno gynecologist Dr. Gail Mallard-Warren and her women’s care speciality team to provide preventive screening for all gynecological conditions. During your annual visit, your OB-GYN will review your current health and lifestyle with you and conduct a physical examination of your pelvic area and your breasts.

We offer annual well-woman exams to provide our patients with the empowerment of being in control of their own health and wellbeing.

Well-woman exams are an essential part of a woman’s preventive care strategy. They are the first step in the early discovery of disease, which may help prolong your lifespan and improve your quality of life. An annual well-woman exam is one of the most important steps that women of all ages can take to safeguard their health.

 Beginning at the age of 21, well-woman exams should be performed by your Fresno Ob-Gyn on an annual basis. We recommend an initial visit in the patient’s mid-to-late teens.

Among other things, your Fresno Ob-Gyn will discuss the following items with you:

  • Quality/quantity of your exercise program;
  • Your nutritional program;
  • Smoking and/or alcohol consumption;
  • Amount/type of sexual activity;
  • Length/intensity of menstrual cycles;
  • Vaccination

Your Fresno OB-GYN will perform a breast exam and a pelvic exam. Depending on the age of the patient, a bone density scan or mammogram may also be performed. Also – depending on age – a test for human Papilloma virus (HPV) and/or a Pap smear may also be prescribed.

Depending on the patient’s age and sexual activity, samples may also be taken to test for the presence of sexually transmitted diseases. An examination is also performed to inspect the uterus and ovaries for any abnormalities.

If it’s time for your annual exam and you are in need of a caring and experienced Ob-Gyn Fresno CA residents rely on the professional and caring staff at the office of Dr. Gail Mallard-Warren.
